Danielle Truitt's Creative Synthesis Project

The Teacher as a Leader course helped prepare us for leadership roles in education in and outside of the classroom.  For one of our assignments, we had to design a needs assessment based on an area of improvement that we noticed within our school communities. I know many of my parents struggle with having access to books and other materials necessary to set up a home learning environment. This is why I designed the needs assessment, to see what components of literacy they are most interested in gaining more knowledge about. The results of the assessment allowed me to see what kind of tools I needed to create for my parents to engage in. This assignment really helped push me forward in planning and implementing my creative synthesis.
